Vermont Has 1st Virus Deaths As Connecticut Postpones Voting

Gov. Ned Lamont has decided to move Connecticut's April 8 presidential primary to June 2 in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has been blamed for a third death. Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is activating 2,000 National Guard members to help distribute supplies as the state's capacity to test for the coronavirus is expected to increase significantly, with labs administering 3,500 tests a day by next week.

The state's cases jumped to 328.

Vermont officials announced the state's first two deaths from the coronavirus on Thursday evening. Rhode Island's governor is asking private companies to help replenish the state's supply of protective medical supplies. New Hampshire announced a $50 million loan fund for hospitals.
