The city of Portland is now using its Expo building as a shelter to quarantine residents suspected of being exposed to COVID-19, after two guests at the city's Oxford Street homeless shelter have tested positive for the virus since Tuesday.

The City of Portland is canceling all events for 30 days at Merrill Auditorium, the Portland Expo and Ocean Gateway due to concerns about the new coronavirus. Officials say they'll discuss how the city is preparing for any cases of COVID-19 at a 2:00 p.m. news conference Friday at Portland City Hall.
