Forged Metal One-Day Workshop
Forged Metal One-Day Workshop
Sunday, May 5th from 10:00AM-5:00PM
Using a hammer on an anvil, you will learn how to move and shape metal. We’ll work on variations of the pictured design, or come and create your own unique design. We will implement different forging techniques and elements to apply toward your design. Most of all come to have fun and play with a hammer and metal! Sawing, filing, soldering, annealing, and hammering will be covered.
$99 workshop fee does not include materials.
Materials cost: $25 for 2', up to $45 for 4' of silver; $5 to $10 for copper—Cash only please, payable to the instructor the day of the workshop.
(For safety, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.)
We will have an hour break for lunch midday. The studio will be closed during this break, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area.
Open to adults only. Please contact us directly if you are interested in seeing metalsmithing options for teens.
About the instructor: Pamela Bosco started Bosco Jewelry in 2000 while on Peaks Island. She also worked with well-known goldsmith Sam Shaw for four years.
