Fun Day Out: Create Glass Art Celebrating International Women's Day
Celebrating International Women's Day!
Saturday, March 8, 9:30am-12:30
What could be better than spending the morning learning from two women with wildly different skill sets and artistic temperaments? Join instructors Carmela Patriotti and Pam Wilcox to create your own abstract portrait expressing strength, grace, solidarity, beauty, and empowerment.
Instructor Pam Wilcox will show you how to:
-Use glass paint to create the silhouette of a woman's face (we have lots of templates to help you!)
-Pull and shape rods and strips of glass into long stringers on the torch
Instructor Carmela Patriotti will show you how to:
-cut, nip, and shape glass to create flower petals and leaves
-design and assemble your glass and stringers into a one-of-a-kind piece of art!
Our example is ONLY an example, and you will have lots of freedom to design your own color scheme! You'll choose your 10.5" square background color from our wide selection of Wissmach Fusible glass. Our scrap selection is phenomenal, so you'll be able to create your own color scheme as you go! (I'm envisioning a green haired lady on a purple background!)
No experience is required, but you can't be afraid of the flame! This is also a great class for intermediate fusers to add something new to your skill set.
$85 per person includes all materials, plus fresh pastries and fruit and champagne mimosas. We hope to have a full classroom; because we have 7 torches in the flameroom, Pam will do the tutorial for the whole group, then you'll rotate in and out 20-30 minutes at a time on the torch.
