Goat Hill Trail - Walk and Learn about Accessible Trail Effort

Goat Hill Trail - Walk and Learn about Accessible Trail Effort

Come join Three Rivers Land Trust staff and board members to learn about efforts to finish the Goat Hill Accessible Trail in Acton. The Goat Hill Trail is a 0.8-mile route that climbs 151-ft to the summit of Goat Hill, where there are excellent views across fields and orchards to local lakes and the mountains in the distance. On a clear day, the Presidential Range can even be seen. The land is owned by the Town of Acton, and the land trust has been building the trail in several phases since 2018. The route is now a wide and winding gravel trail that provides an easy climb for most people, but the land trust is working hard to make this an accessible trail that can be used by people with a wider range of abilities, including wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The purpose of the walk is to show the current state of the trail and to talk about what modifications will be made this year to finalize an accessible route to a summit picnic area. Feedback from trail users and potential trail users is welcome as we work to make this trail the best it can be. For more information, see our website www.3rlt.org, or look for Three Rivers Land Trust on Facebook. We can also be contacted at info@3rlt.org or 207-358-9695.
