Steel drum bands from Maine and New Hampshire invite the public to come enjoy live music as the bands gather to perform and celebrate the unique sounds of the steel drum, also known as the steel pan. On Sunday, May 5th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Cony High School, 60 Pierce Drive in Augusta, all the participating bands will perform. These include middle and high school bands, and others from community groups such as Augusta's own Vintage Steel--a steel pan ensemble comprised of retired adults, and the host of this year's event.
