Portland Community Orchestra - Open Audition for New Players
Portland Community Orchestra - Open Audition for New Players
We are reaching out to welcome all new players as we start rehearsals for our 2024-25 season. This year's repertoire includes music by Elgar, Handel, Beethoven, Boyce, Holst and more, as well as our annual Holiday concert in December.
Weekly rehearsals take place every Tuesday from 5:30 – 7:30pm beginning on September 10th, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 580 Forest Avenue in Portland.
PCO aims for a quality musical experience for players of all ages and abilities, in an atmosphere conducive to learning, individual growth, and fun.
Founded in 2017 by Music Director Vincent Fuerst, the Portland Community Orchestra is a non-competitive orchestra which provides a unique musical experience to those who are interested and ready for the challenges of playing great music with other musicians. Rehearsals focus on enjoying the experience of playing music together and learning how to produce a full and beautiful sound. Repertoire is drawn from all musical eras and styles. Players will: strengthen their ability to perform and function as a section; work to glean a personally satisfying ensemble experience; and develop and grow their technical skills and musicianship. All rehearsals and concerts take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, Portland.
