Félicitations to those who are already on the road to raising their children to speak French and English. And congratulations to those of you who want to commence this journey.
We invite you to join us at the Franco-American Collection at USM/LAC, located at 51 Westminster Street in Lewiston, Maine, on Friday, January 23rd, at 6:30 pm for an open and frank discussion about raising children who speak both French and English. Our hope is to offer a platform for you to express your: questions; fears; disappointments; frustrations; aspirations; and, of course, your successes.
Our intention is to develop a place for people to find a community of like-minded people, who will share their experiences and help one another meet their goals.
This free event will also be offered on Zoom for those of you who cannot attend in person. Whether you plan on attending in person or on Zoom, we ask that you preregister by Friday, January 16th. To do so, please contact archivist, Anna Faherty, at anna.faherty@maine.edu.
A series of workshops will be offered subsequently for those wishing both to learn more about how to raise bilingual children in an anglophone environment and to receive support in doing so.
