Selected works by Maine artist Carol Bass will be on display this summer at Merrill Memorial Library in Yarmouth from June 1 through August 31. An opening reception will be held on July 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A painter, sculptor, author and spirited lover of family, friends, color, poetry, animals, and nature. Known for her vibrant and colorful paintings and mixed-media pieces, Bass worked mainly with acrylic, oil, and oil sticks on paper, wood, and canvas.
The community is invited to enjoy Bass's artwork at the Library throughout the summer and to celebrate her life and work at the opening reception on July 31. Selected works and copies of Bass's book "Ripple Effect: will be available for sale.

Join us in the lobby from 3:00 to 5:30 pm to connect with local artists and community organizations, including OUT Maine and more. It’s a great opportunity to support local creativity and pick up important resources.
At 3:30 pm, Ricky Rainbow Beard takes the stage with The Rainbow Beard Show—a joyful, all-ages performance filled with puppets, games, stories, videos, and surprise guests! This special edition explores the theme of DRESS-UP. What does it mean to dress up? When and why do we do it? Come find out in this playful and thoughtful show.
At 5:30 we’ll wrap up the evening with a fabulous, family-friendly drag performance featuring some of Maine’s most talented queens. You won’t want to miss it!

Their distinctive blend of Irish and Appalachian roots composition has been licensed for film, TV, and advertising and is widely covered and recorded by other artists. The band recently appeared in a major Kerrygold butter commercial which featured one of their songs, Swans. Their first Opera House appearance!

Celebrating Searsport’s rich maritime tradition, volunteer roleplayers will bring local history to life, dramatically reading or reenacting newspaper stories of bravery, shipwrecks, daring rescues, and other adventures on the high seas! Bring your family and come take a deep dive into the sea-goers life as we travel through time.
Volunteer roleplayers will be stationed in buildings and open spaces throughout our 3-acre campus. Attendees will walk around the campus to hear the stories presented by the actors. Registration is not required. This programming is included with Museum Admission.
