Flies & Lies fly-tying group is open to anyone interested in fly tying and fly fishing. A two part program on Plastic Pollution - Plastic Solutions. (The second program takes place at the Patten Free Library in Bath on Nov. 5th, and starts at 5pm). The Curtis program features speakers Mariel Geiger of the Surfriders' Portland Chapter and Vanessa Berry of Sustainable Maine and the Natural Resources Council of Maine speaking on "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Plastics", and on "Maine Leads the Way on EPR", the recently passed law on "Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging". The Patten Free program features Bath City Councilor Megan Mansfield-Pryor and Ecomaine Environmental Educator Bea Johnson speaking on "Town Efforts on Plastic" and "What to do about Plastics at Home". Refreshments will be served and the event is open to the public at no cost.
