The Festival of Trees is a festive celebration - a partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, the Alfond Youth & Community Center and presented by the Central Maine Betterment Collaborative.
The Festival of Trees is a cherished annual event that transforms the Waterville Elks Lodge into a winter wonderland, beautifully decorated with dazzling trees, each uniquely adorned with fantastic gifts curated by local businesses and organizations. We invite the community to revel in the holiday spirit while supporting community initiatives. Funds raised during the festival directly benefit our community experiencing food insecurity and provide meaningful workforce development opportunities.

The Lewiston Public Library will be offering drop-in Preschool Playdates from 10:30am-12:30pm on Saturdays* in the Children’s program room.*(The Library will be closed on Saturday, 8/30 in observance of Labor Day & Saturday, 11/29 in observance of Thanksgiving.)
Drop-in and join us for Preschool Playdates! Preschoolers and their families are invited to stop in during our Preschool Playdates to engage in imaginative play and build friendships. A variety of toys, games, and crafts will be available during all sessions.
The programs will take place in the Children’s Program Room on the 3rd floor.
The programs are free and there is no registration required. All families with children between the ages of 2-6 are welcome to attend. Siblings are also welcome.

Take an exciting journey through the fundamentals of the metals studio with this metalsmithing workshop! Learn the basics of tools, safety, soldering, forming, and stone setting as you create your unique bezel ring or pendant. Beginners are welcome; a $35 materials fee will provide all the supplies needed to complete the project. Get creative and craft a beautiful bezel ring or pendant.
$99 workshop fee does not include materials.
The materials kit is $35 and can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop.
(For safety, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.)
We will have a 20-minute break, so feel free to bring a snack.
Laura's workshops are open to teens ages 13 and up when accompanied by a parent.
About the instructor: Laura Jamison of LJ Studios Metalsmith is an instructor from New Hampshire.

This guitar-strumming storyteller is aiming to steal your heart with lyrical honesty. Dan Cloutier has sold out shows throughout New England. Expect beloved covers and originals too! He just released an album called, "The Iceberg" - spending the last year traveling to Greenland, and Newfoundland to record music and make videos about these adventures.

One of Portland's most popular duos, Natalie and Max are “This or Better.” A folk acoustic duo with beautiful harmonies, fingerstyle guitar picking and a charismatic vibe that have stolen the hearts of many. Their repertoire includes original music and prime selections from the classics: John Prine, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt and so many more.
