One of Yankee Magazine's top five cemetery tours in New England! Walk Portland's Old Burying Ground with a trained guide. Hallowed? Not officially. Historic? Absolutely. Haunted? You decide. Visit the cemetery's unique field of underground tombs, the oldest gravemarker from 1717, the final resting place of the famed Captains of the 1813 battle between the Boxer and the Enterprise, and the interesting carvings of Portland's first stone-cutter, Bartlett Adams. Tours include early gravestone art, important local historic figures, Portland's historic events, and the landscape of this National Historic Landmark, including segregated sections for Black people, Catholics, Quakers, and strangers. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the ground is uneven once we leave the main pathway. Tours are held unless the weather is stormy.

Bailey’s Mistake is a neo-traditional Celtic-inspired folk band playing ancient songs of the sea, Newfoundland, the auld sod and their home state of Maine. Their highly danceable music invites merry hearts to sing along and feel the power of ancient tradition as it transitions into the 21st century.
Bailey’s Mistake features singer and frontman Troy R. Bennett on guitar and Travis Cote on bagpipes and tin whistles. The band’s rhythm section is rounded out with Dean Clegg on drums and Rob Babson on bass.
Join the DSQ for an evening of contrasts as they performs two great works.
The program includes the second of Beethoven’s “Razumovsky” quartets, String Quartet in E minor, Op 59 no 2, a work that begins and ends in a stormy manner, similar to the Appassionata Sonata for piano and written during the same period of Beethoven’s life.
The sunny and often humorous Korngold Second String Quartet is a work which seems to reflect a 20th century nostalgia for the “old world”, including a Straussian waltz, and bears glimpses of the great film scores Korngold goes on to write in Hollywood in the ’40s and ’50s.
