Learn practical, natural approaches to stabilizing eroding shorelines from experts with the Maine DEP, Maine Coastal Program, and local shoreline specialists. Topics include causes of erosion, options for protecting property, and what state permit reviewers look for. Participants are encouraged to bring photos of their shoreline for discussion during free one-on-one consultations after the talks. Dinner provided. Registration requested but not required.
Christian Music Share Nights will start up again on January 6, 2022 and will continue to be held the 1st Thursday of each month. We will gather on the 1st Floor of the Cherryfield Academy Community Center, located at 53 Main Street, Cherryfield. Time is 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A sound system is provided. Crafting with polymer clay and spending time with a room full of kitties!Maire Trombley will lead this workshop -she is the creative mind behind Catmint Crafts. Through the use of polymer clay, she'll teach you how to mold whimsical cat related earrings - and you'll get to bring the ones you make home with you.
Make your own one-of-a kind fused glass jewelry and have fun learning how to work with different types of glass in this 2 and ½ hour workshop! Each student will learn basic techniques to shape metallic specialty glass and sheet glass using both hand tools and bit grinders. You will have the opportunity to design and create 2 pendants, or a pendant and earring set. Your unique jewelry will be fired to a full fuse and a jewelry bail added. All work will be available for pick-up the week following the class.
