Looking to spend more time on your creative hobby this fall? We’ve got just the thing: Artists Studio: Drawing & Painting! Join us at Libby Library for this 8-week series held every Thursday from September 25th through November 13th from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm in our Community Room!
This is not an art class, but rather a time for you to come work on your own drawing & painting artwork in the company of other creatives! All skill levels are welcome to attend. You must bring your own supplies, none will be provided. This program series is presented in partnership with Saco Bay Artists.
This program is free, open to the public, and no registration is required.

Construction and demolition waste account for 52% of Maine’s landfills and make up the largest waste stream in the United States and the world. Of this, a staggering 90% comes from demolition. New efforts are underway to address the issue including an approach called “deconstruction,” or the systematic disassembly of buildings to maximize reuse and recycling. Join us as we hear from the head of the newly formed Maine Deconstruction Network and the owner of Second Story Builders, a mission-driven business dedicated to advancing circular construction practices in Midcoast Maine.
+ Megan Mansfield-Pryor, Waste Management Climate Policy Advisor, Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future+ Daniel Salomon, Owner, Second Story Builders

Join in or just enjoy songs of the sea led by PMM staff and volunteers. Have a sea chantey or sailors’ song to share? You can lead one, too! For those that are curious about how chanteys were used as work songs at sea, we’ll also provide commentary. Come once or join us regularly - great for all ages. No experience needed.
One of Yankee Magazine's top five cemetery tours in New England! Walk Portland's Old Burying Ground with a trained guide. Hallowed? Not officially. Historic? Absolutely. Haunted? You decide. Visit the cemetery's unique field of underground tombs, the oldest gravemarker from 1717, the final resting place of the famed Captains of the 1813 battle between the Boxer and the Enterprise, and the interesting carvings of Portland's first stone-cutter, Bartlett Adams. Tours include early gravestone art, important local historic figures, Portland's historic events, and the landscape of this National Historic Landmark, including segregated sections for Black people, Catholics, Quakers, and strangers. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the ground is uneven once we leave the main pathway. Tours are held unless the weather is stormy.
