Most people know that museums collect objects, put on exhibits and present programs, but just how do the staff go about doing those things? Saco Museum will feature some of its oldest collections dating from the late19th century, as well as recent acquisitions, to illustrate how the secrets are unveiled. Staff will be available most weekdays to answer questions. Exhibit hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 4-8 p.m. (free admission); Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This little non-profit has been an enduring presence in encouraging and showing artwork in the Oxford Hills for more than a half-century. This month's exhibit is a rare opportunity to view artwork largely unknown and rarely seen.

The experience includes a welcome sample of Allagash White. Starting May 1st we are tasting: Floating Holiday - blonde with lemon and sea salt, Dark Lager with Cherries, Cellar's #11 - barrel blend with wine grapes, and World on a String - bourbon barrel aged amber inspired by an "Old Fashioned" cocktail. Final pour is a "choose your own adventure" sample between two rotating options.

A week-long summer festival of classes, workshops and concerts in Bar Harbor, ME, celebrating Celtic-influenced traditional music and dance.
The Lewiston Public Library will host an Adult Beginner Yoga Series led by Chill Yoga co-owner Heidi Audet from 5:30 to 6:30pm in Callahan Hall on the following Tuesdays: June 10th, June 24th, July 8th, and July 22nd.
All sessions are free to attend, and participants should bring their own mats. Due to limited floor space, registration is required. Yoga teachers and practitioners Heidi Audet and Nerys Bayley co-founded Chill Yoga in 2007 as a home for the growing yoga community of Lewiston/Auburn. The studio has been at its current Lisbon Street location since May 2010.

Lafayette will join us at the library for a reenactment of his visit to Biddeford 200 years ago to the day. Speeches, costumes, and historically accurate snacks will be followed by a talk from Alan R. Hoffman, titled “Lafayette and the Farewell Tour: Odyssey of an American Idol.”

“Diamonds and Toads,” written by Melody Bates, is a hilarious and unflinching dive into the underbelly of wicked stepmother and stepsister stories, Melody’s take on this tale comes complete with a marvelous fairy godmother named Florabella, a talking toad, and a true happy ending that doesn’t rely on prince charming. Costume design, by Jennifer Paar, features a rococo silhouette, ribbons and ruffles, bejeweled fabric and adornments, and hand-made gossamer wings.
