The Opportunity Alliance’s 60th Anniversary Celebration
Join us on Thursday, October 16, 2025, 5pm-7:30pm at the Opportunity Alliance’s Michael J. Tarpinian Family Center, 50 Lydia Lane, South Portland, ME, for RAISE—an unforgettable evening celebrating 60 years of impact, resilience, and community at The Opportunity Alliance.
This special night will highlight the powerful journeys of Maine individuals and families whose lives have been transformed through your support—demonstrating how access to the right resources can lead to greater health, safety, and stability. We believe in the potential of every person, and here in Maine, we’ve seen that belief come to life.
Guests will enjoy delicious bites from local eateries, sip craft cocktails and local brews, and take in live music that sets the perfect tone for a night of celebration. Be inspired by moving stories of determination, help us honor our dedicated community partners during a heartfelt awards ceremony, and take part in an exciting live auction featuring unique items—all in support of TOA’s vital mission. Your support helps fund vital programs year-round.
Together, we’re raising voices, raising paddles, and raising HOPE.
Some say that The Tides Beach Club's original owner, Emma Foss, is still keeping watch over her life's work — even in death. Guests experience whispers behind them, only to turn around and find there's no one there. Furniture is moved in the middle of the night. Lights in the attic can frequently be seen but — there are no lights in the attic.
Join us at The Tides Beach Club on October 16th or October 23rd at 5:00PM where we'll board a trolley and journey into the night to see some of Kennebunkport's most haunted locations.
The harshly beautiful coastline of Kennebunkport, Maine has a long history of storm, revolution and folklore that seems to lure deceased residents from the ether. Join Maine's mystery maven as she delves into the chilling secrets and ghostly lore of York County on this curious trolley ride.
Our tour will begin and end at The Tides Beach Club, enjoy happy hour cocktails* from 3:00-5:00PM before getting spooked! Please arrive 10-15 minutes early as the trolley will leave promptly at 5:00PM.

Join Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition and Shannaghe for this new film about a slippery enigma that lives here in Maine. Swimming across history, oceans, and cultures, the American eel is tiny, slimy, and incredibly valuable to Maine. It fuels our second largest fishery--a $20 billion industry—and also faces some challenges, including dams. From Maine harvesters to Asian aquaculturists, and from unagi experts to scientists, the elversphere captures the dynamics, surfaces a web of relations, and offers unexpected perspectives on ecological and societal crises.
