The Lewiston Public Library will be offering drop-in Preschool Playdates from 10:30am-12:30pm on Saturdays* in the Children’s program room.
*(The Library will be closed on Saturday, 8/30 in observance of Labor Day & Saturday, 11/29 in observance of Thanksgiving.)

Drop-in and join us for Preschool Playdates! Preschoolers and their families are invited to stop in during our Preschool Playdates to engage in imaginative play and build friendships. A variety of toys, games, and crafts will be available during all sessions.

The programs will take place in the Children’s Program Room on the 3rd floor.

The programs are free and there is no registration required. All families with children between the ages of 2-6 are welcome to attend. Siblings are also welcome.

The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street. For more information on children’s programming contact the Children’s Department at 513-3133 or LPLKids@lewistonmaine.gov.

The first Saturday of every month Periwinkle Needlepoint is hosting a beginner's class.
Just come and purchase one of our hand painted beginner kits - either from Geraldine & Virginia ($36-$48) or DeElda ($32) and Jen will teach you how to get started on your needlepoint journey!

Come join to celebrate light on one of the darkest days of the year! We will welcome Santa Lucia with her crown of candles, joined by children bringing song and light into the darkness of winter. In Sweden, Saint Lucia Day (or Sankta Lucia) is December’s holiday of light - a sacred day that commemorates St Lucia, a young Christian martyr who died for her faith. According to the legends, St Lucia wore a wreath laden with candles, so she could fill her hands with food that she would secretly deliver to Christian's in hiding in the Roman catacombs under the city.

Mayo Street Arts is celebrating the holiday a week early this year to celebrate the Danish Lutheran history of our space. This year we welcome Boston's Swedish women's vocal group, Merulae, to grace us with a repertoire in Swedish and English.
