Join the Lewiston Public Library for Baby Sensory Playtime in the Children’s Department every Thursday morning from 10am to 12pm, starting September 5th, 2024.

Drop-in and join us for Baby Sensory Playtime! Babies and their caregivers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of sensory toys and socialize with other families with young children.

Playtime with sensory toys contributes to a baby’s cognitive development, fine motor skills, social and emotional development, creativity, and language development.

Recommended for babies ages birth-18 months and their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome. This program is free, open to the public and no registration is required.

The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street and Lisbon St.

Drop-in Mahjongg game (every week when enough players rsvp and library is open).
All levels of experience welcome (beginners given instruction).
We play Asian/Chinese style (easier to learn than American mahjong & no need to purchase annual card).
We have multiple sets of tiles, so can accommodate extra players.

Our monthly spaghetti supper offers community and spaghetti (meat or veggie sauce), salad, garlic bread, and BUMC’s famous pies. Donation only. A portion of proceeds goes to MCHPP. We hope you will join us regularly.

Join us at the Lewiston Public Library this winter for a monthly meeting of Genre Roulette: Romance Book Club! The Genre Roulette Book Club samples genres by focusing on one genre for three months at a time: join for one season or come to them all!
This winter, the book club will be focusing on Romance across three sub-genres. We will meet monthly in the Couture Room from 5:30 to 6:30pm on the following Thursdays: January 15th, February 19th, and March 19th

January 15 : The Queer Principles of Kit Webb by Cat Sebastian
February 19: Better Than Fiction by Alexa Martin
March 19: Swordheart by T. Kingfisher

Recommended for ages 18+.

Whether it's your birthday or not- come, bring friends, and make new ones! These parties will be held on the third Thursday of each month. Our first partnership is with Lucky Pigeon Brewing Co & we're so excited to have our parties there! The food will be potluck birthday cakes, pies, treats, & snacks, there will be games and prizes- with our grand prize at the end of the night being a tinfoil sculpture from local artist, Robert the Tinman!
