Cumberland County Children's Theatre (CCCT) will transport audience members to a “world of pure imagination” with their production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr., a musical based on Roald Dahl’s timeless children’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, on Saturday, May 11 at 2PM and 7PM, Sunday, May 12 at 2PM, Saturday, May 18 at 2PM and 7PM, and Sunday May 19 at 2PM. Performances will take place at Gray-New Gloucester High School in Gray, Maine.
In Willy Wonka Jr., a world-famous reclusive candy man named Willy Wonka offers the tour of a lifetime through his secret chocolate factory to five children who find a golden ticket in one of his world-famous candy bars. One ticket-holder will also win a lifetime supply of chocolate. The children encounter marvelous sights and tastes along the way, including giant nut-selecting squirrels, fizzy lifting drinks, Everlasting Gobstoppers, and a chocolate river. But each stop proves to be a test, as only one can go on to win the Wonka prize.
CCCT’s production will include beloved songs “The Candy Man,” “I Want It Now!”, and “Pure Imagination” from the classic 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Acadia Community Theater Proudly Presents its spring musical "Just So". Based on the Just So stories by Rudyard Kipling, "Before the High and Far-off Times... came the Time of the Very Beginnings," when everything was just so, until Pau Amma the Crab started playing with the ocean. This caused the lands to flood, disrupting the other animals and putting them in danger. While the rest of the animals accept their sad fate, Elephant's Child embarks on a journey to challenge and overcome the disobedient crab. Along the way, he meets other animals and discovers how the mysteries of their phenomenon came to be.

The Maine Music Society Chorale will showcase a variety of musical genres from 1972, the year the Chorale was born, on Saturday May 11 at 7 pm and on Sunday May 12 at 2 pm at the Franco Center in Lewiston. Under the direction of our Artistic Director, Dr. Richard Nickerson, the 70+ member chorale will regale you with time honored favorites such as “Listen to the Music” and medleys from Broadway shows like “Jesus Christ Superstar” to name just a couple. The singers will also lead you in an exploration of some of the unusual and exciting musical styles and pop rhythms of the era that are sure to leave you surprised and breathless. Join us as we take you back fifty years to a time that evoked an age of free spirit and creative musical expression. You definitely will want to be present as we celebrate our Golden Jubilee – 50 Years of Song!

Founded as the Androscoggin Chorale in 1972, the group’s diverse repertoire reflects its desire to advance the cultural heritage of Central Maine, to explore a broad range of musical genres — contemporary, musical theatre, classical, opera, oratorio — and to provide its members with opportunities to experience their love of singing.
Canadian classical guitarist Guy Brisson will present a varied program of works, including Santiago de Murcia Prelude and Allegro, Bach Fugue for violin BWV 1001, Sor Grand Solo, Moreno-Torroba Suite Castellana, and Falla's La Vida Breve.
In addition to his studies in his home country, he was twice awarded a Canada Council grant to study guitar at the prestigious Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands.
meSSeS feature precarious unicycling, shimmering puppetry, jaw-dropping juggling, mesmerizing motions, meticulously prepared hot beverages … Janoah tosses together art forms to tell a tale of learning & labor, emerging ecstatically from a haphazard pile of props. Part performance, part workshop, entirely entertaining ... Janoah juggles several tasks simultaneously: performing & teaching! During this (optionally interactive) show YOU learn to juggle while you watch. In between acts, Janoah engagingly guides the audience through the essentials: throwing, catching and messy-ing up!
Janoah Bailin (ze/zir), aka janoah…anygoodjokes? creates and performs energetic, stimulating and educational shows for family audiences with zir unique blend of circus, puppetry, story and dance. Ze originally learned to unicycle in the empty corridors of zir middle school, practicing after-hours. Janoah grew up juggling with the Suspenders Juggling Troupe in Falmouth (MA) then traveled New England with the Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour. Ze graduated in 2014 from College of the Atlantic, focusing in performance and movement. Janoah now coaches the Gym Dandies Children’s Circus of Scarborough (ME), as well as the Children's Circus of Middletown (CT)
Former member of the Paul Winter Consort, Jim Scott will lead us with powerful songs and striking projected images. Jim brings warmth and humor in his jazz and world music influenced songs. There will be many invitations to join in the singing, to celebrate what's beautiful, amazing, and fragile about our Earth. Facing the urgency of the environmental crisis, this musical and visual experience challenges us to feel, to learn and to act.

We're honored to continue our monthly Jazz music series featuring the Marc Chillemi Quintet:Marc Chillemi - TrumpetJesse Beckett - TenorClifford Cameron - PianoDuane Edwards - BassMark Dumond - DrumsMarc Chillemi is a Portland-based musician and composer active in Jazz and roots music from the Caribbean and West Africa. For 30 years Marc has amassed a considerable list of performances and recordings across a wide range of styles and genres. Marc has performed as a guest with international recording artists including Orchestra Baobab, The Satellites, Alton Ellis, Slavic Soul Party, Antibalas, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, G.Love & Special Sauce, and John Popper.Originally from New York, Marc moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, where he earned a BA in Jazz Composition. In 2011, Marc completed a Masters degree in Jazz Studies at the University of Maine’s School of Music. Marc continued to further his interests in ethnomusicology and his research resulted in what he calls, Musical Migrations. Currently, Marc resides on Westport Island in mid-coast Maine and continues to perform throughout New England with his band Raging Brass and Primo Cubano. Marc’s aspirations to share his growing passion and knowledge, with students and the public of all ages and cultural backgrounds, continues through his research and musical experiences.
