Heavy winds have left more than 35,000 households without power across the state.
York, Oxford and Franklin counties have been particularly hit, with more than 6,000 customers without power in each.
Central Maine Power says it has 200 lineworkers deployed across the state, as well as 180 contracted workers and 218 tree workers. The company says that with strong gusts forecast to continue through this evening, it expects even more outages over the next few hours.
