Anthem: 2015 Rates in Health Marketplace Stay Flat

CONCORD, N.H. - The only company that sold health insurance under the federal health care overhaul law in New Hampshire this year says its average customer will see no increase in premiums in 2015.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield says its overall rates will remain flat, but some policyholders could see changes depending on their individual plans, their ages and whether or not they smoke.

Two other private insurance companies - Harvard Pilgrim and Assurant - and two cooperatives - Maine Community Health and Minuteman - will begin selling health plans when enrollment re-opens on Nov. 15 for coverage that takes effect in January.

Anthem plans to offer 10 individual plans and three group plans. The total number of plans available to individuals is expected to increase to more than 50.
