Maine Trucker to be Fined After Train Collision

LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine (AP) _ Police say a Sidney, Maine, truck driver will be fined $311 for failing to obey a railroad warning device stemming from a collision between his logging truck and a train.

The Sun Journalreports that 25-year-old Jeremy Tillson was injured on Wednesday when his truck crashed into a Pan Am Railways train on Main Street in Livermore Falls. Tillson was treated and released from Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington after being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police say Tillson told them he did not hear the train or bells or see the train before his truck crossed a railroad crossing. The southbound train hit the truck behind the cab and wood spilled out onto the ground.

The crash closed the road for several hours.
