Sagadahoc County to Get Federal Funds for Storm Clean Up

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) _ Maine's congressional delegation says that Sagadahoc County will receive federal funds to help cover repair and cleanup costs caused by this year's extreme winter weather.

Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King and Rep. ChelliePingree said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has agreed to provide assistance to the county after the lawmakers urged it to do so last month. FEMA has already approved disaster assistance for Cumberland, York and Androscoggin counties.

The lawmakers say that the blizzard and flooding that occurred in January cost Sagadahoc County nearly $130,000 in cleanup, damage and emergency measures it had to take during the storm. They say that the assistance will help aid the recovery efforts in Sagadahoc that are already underway.
