AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Gov. Paul LePage is helping kick off the state employees and retirees' annual charity fundraiser.
The Republican governor will join with state workers at the Statehouse Hall of Flags on Tuesday to mark the beginning of the Maine State Employees' Combined Charitable Appeal.
The governor's office said that that state employees and retirees have given about $8 million to charitable organizations over 35 years. Last year, the group raised nearly $300,000.
