EDGECOMB, Maine — Maine First Lady Ann LePage and a veteran who lost four limbs while serving in Afghanistan are delivering remarks at a veterans' job conference.
LePage's remarks on Thursday will be followed by Travis Mills, a retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt., who was injured by an improvised explosive device during his third deployment.
The conference is aimed at helping Maine agencies better connect veterans with jobs. Department of Labor Commissioner Jeanne Paquette says the state is focused on how it can "do a better job serving those who have served our country."
The event will be held at the Sheepscot Harbour Village and Resort in Edgecomb.
LePage and Mills went skydiving together in northern Maine in August to raise money for a veterans center and museum.
