Chellie Pingree, Donald Sussman Seeking Divorce

PORTLAND, Maine — Democratic Rep. Chellie Pingree and husband Donald Sussman are seeking a divorce after four years of marriage.

Pingree said Tuesday that they have separated and that divorce is a "very amicable and truly mutual decision." She says it's sad for both of them, and that they still have the "utmost respect for each other."

She said she'll have nothing further to say.

She and the hedge fund manager married in June 2011. A year later, he rescued the Portland Press Herald and sister newspapers before selling them this year. He's also a major Democratic donor.

Pingree no longer will be required to list his financial information on her disclosure forms. Because of that, she was issued a 30-day grace period after the Aug. 13 due date for her latest filing.
