AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage says like most Americans, he remembers well where he was 14 years ago when the terrorists attacked the United States.
He was at work and went home and watched events unfold on television.
"Memories are pretty much the same memories that Americans had during World War II when they bombed Pearl Harbor," LePage says. "It was real disastrous and from that day on I felt America was a different country."
The governor says he is worried too many Americans are forgetting that horrific attack.
He worries we are still vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
"It's been a different country for the last 14 years," LePage says. "But sometimes we get too comfortable at home and we forget we are as vulnerable as we were 15 years ago."
