Maine Delegation Upset at Obama Defense Bill Veto

WASHINGTON - President Obama has vetoed the annual Defense Authorization Act, jeopardizing some key programs in Maine. Second District Congressman Bruce Poliquin, a Republican, is upset at the President's action.

"It would impact negatively the funding for Bath Iron Works, that employs almost 6,000 Maine workers, almost half of which live in the 2nd District," he says.

Sen. Angus King, an independent, says he is disappointed with the president's action and hopes the House and Senate can find a way to pass legislation that Obama can sign.

The president objected to the way the bill was funded, which he called gimmick financing.
