2nd District U.S. Rep. Jared Golden is urging his colleagues on the House Small Business Committee to develop an infrastructure package that focuses on small businesses and rural states.
He pressed U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President Thomas Sullivan to lay out the priorities of Chamber members.
“Would they would put the priority on something like broadband, would they put it on something like rail development, would they put it in straight roads and bridges?” asked Golden.
Sullivan responded, "all of the above."
Golden told fellow members of the committee that it is time that Congress developed an infrastructure package to address not only the nation’s aging roads and bridges, but new needs around broadband access as well.
“What would your members of the Chamber look for, particularly? Let’s talk about ones from rural communities like a state like Maine and very small businesses,” Golden said.
