Maine Nursing School Plans To Expand To Address Shortage

A public university in Maine plans to expand its nursing school to deal with a shortage of nurses in the state.

The University of Southern Maine said it's going to use $2.5 million in public and private money to grow the capacity of its School of Nursing. The changes will double the size of the nursing simulation space over five years. The university said in a statement that the changes will allow the state to "address Maine's critical nursing gap."
