Maine Tribes Get $3 Million To Help Solve Affordable Housing Problems

Maine’s four Native American tribes are receiving nearly $3 million for affordable housing.

The money comes from the federal government as part of the pandemic response effort.

In a statement, the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development says the grants can be used for crime prevention, housing development, modernizing existing housing, and other activities designed to “solve affordable housing problems in Indian Country.”
