Renys will close its department store in Portland at the end of the year.
A spokesperson said sales haven't rebounded at the Congress Street location since the pandemic. They say employees will be offered transfers and those who stay through closing will receive bonuses.
Renys opened its Portland store in 2011. According to its website, the Newcastle-based retailer has 17 stores across Maine and more than 500 employees.
