INTRODUCTION TO MONOTYPE (4-WEEK COURSE) @ Waterfall Arts

INTRODUCTION TO MONOTYPE (4-WEEK COURSE) @ Waterfall Arts

INTRODUCTION TO MONOTYPE (4-WEEK COURSE)
April 16, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$135.00 – $165.00

In this four-week course (April 16, 23, 30, May 7), students will learn how to make a variety of monotype prints. Approaches covered include single and multi-layered monotypes, water-based monotypes, transfer prints, collage and Chine-collé, as well as mixed-media methods. Students will learn how to properly prepare an image using oil and water-based media, how to prepare a press for printing, and how to work in a green (non-toxic) print shop. The course will culminate in a print exchange and a portfolio of several monotypes. This class is ideal for beginners or intermediate printmakers. It’s also a great class for painters who are looking to expand their skill set; monotypes are the bridge between painting and printmaking. No prior knowledge of printmaking is required.
