Poetry Crawl Returns to Word Festival

Poetry Crawl Returns to Word Festival
Word, the Blue Hill literary arts festival (October 23-26), revives its popular Poetry crawl on Saturday, October 25, 2:30-5:10 p.m.
Hear a poet in each location: Blue Hill Books (John Reinhart, 2:30 p.m), the Shaw Institute (Annaliese Jakimides, 3:05), Juniper (Ed Go, 3:40), Blue Hill Heritage Trust’s Murphy Trail (Christian Barter, 4:15) and the Congregational Church (melissa christine goodrum, 4:50). The Murphy trail is part of the Heart of Blue Hill trail system, accessed behind the church, and Barter’s reading is cosponsored by BHHT.
Other Word events include the launch of journalist/historian Colin Woodard’s latest book on Maine’s historical divisions, a discussion of Maine crime writing by Paul Doiron and Elizabeth Hand, Georgia O’Keeffe biographer Roxana Robinson introducing the documentary based on her book, and craft workshops offered by writers from Maine and beyond. An art show, a word game party, and a children's program featuring Phuc Tran and "Cranky Finds a Friend" round out the weekend.
Complete festival information is at wordfestival.org.
Word is funded by the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation and other generous donors. The festival’s media partner is WERU-FM. Its fiscal sponsor is Blue Hill Community Development.
