Small Fish in a Big Pond: The Gulf of Maine & The Global Seafood Economy

Small Fish in a Big Pond: The Gulf of Maine & The Global Seafood Economy

The challenges that define our work in the Gulf of Maine are locally focused yet globally relevant. In our newest Sea State Series, we will take a deeper look at the Gulf of Maine ecosystem, its global connections, and our efforts with partners and stakeholders to understand both.

The ability of coastal communities to thrive in the coming years will depend in large part on our ability to grow a diverse seafood economy. Kanae and Kyle will share insights into the global seafood economy and its impact on the local seafood industry through stories about specific species from the Gulf of Maine. They will also discuss how consumers have an important role to play in enhancing the climate resiliency of Gulf of Maine fisheries and coastal communities.

D oors will open at 5:30 pm with complimentary refreshments available and our program will being at 6:00 pm. Parking is available for free for all registered event attendees on site in our adjacent lot.
