World Music Coming To The Chocolate Church Arts Center With OneBeat
OneBeat, one of the most exciting music presentations of the year, is coming to the Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath on May 10th.
25 musicians from 19 countries will gather on the center's Main Stage for an exhilarating musical escapade.
The event is a celebration of unity, diversity, and the transformative power of music. The soul-stirring folk melodies of Saudi Arabia, the explosive sounds of Nairobi, the mesmerizing melodies of the Japanese Sho, and the infectious samba rhythms of Buenos Aires will all be featured in this unforgettable evening of exploration and connection.
OneBeat program was launched in 2012 by the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The program invites young musicians to apply for free 30-day fellowships to develop and rehearse original music, followed by a 14-day tour. Once the tour is complete, OneBeat musicians return to their home countries and develop projects linked to music-driven social enterprises that are designed to make a positive impact on local communities.
Join OneBeat at the gazebo in Library Park on May 10th at noon for a little sampling of the incredible performances happening in the evening!
