Susan Werner on stage again at Stone Mountain Arts Center. Her songwriting is poignant and her message is heartfelt…but always getting her point across with a little sugar on top. Couldn't we all have a little of that lately. over the course of her twenty-five year touring career, Susan Werner has built a reputation as one of the country’s most compelling live performers. With formidable chops on guitar (she began playing at age 5) and piano (she was a guest on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz) along with a graduate degree in voice performance, her shows are a one-woman master class in musicianship.

This American Legion Post #36 Breakfast Buffet has been a tradition spanning many years now. Aside from a few minor unforeseen and unavoidable changes, most everything else remains the same. All who enter the Legion Hall doors on a Breakfast Buffet Sunday, will get a great meal for a fair price/donation, get to see old friends and/or family, or meet someone interesting for the first time. The menu items have satisfied many folks over the years, and I have no doubt that this year will be no different. So come and enjoy the Legion Buffet Breakfast this season, enjoy the food, enjoy the camaraderie, and learn how you (Yes, You) can play a key role in this year's breakfast season - or next year's season. There are a number of very important people who make these breakfasts a success each year, if you have any interest in becoming a volunteer or member of the breakfast crew - ask for the least important person in the mix (Christopher) when you arrive for breakfast. These breakfast buffets take place every other Sunday starting on April 2, 2025.

The Rockport Public Library will host a show of handmade works by members of the library’s fiber arts collective, November 6-24. Members will display new works of embroidery, felting, quilting, knitting, paper art, and more in the upper and lower levels of the library.
This is the twelfth year that the group of midcoast-based crafters has been meeting at the library. “This show is one of our favorite annual traditions,” says Rockport Library Director Ben Blackmon. “The library staff watch the members progress on fiber art projects all year long, and then we get to spotlight their finished works and celebrate their immense talents!”
The fiber arts group meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of each month, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Rockport Library. Gatherings are usually informal, but mini workshops are also occasionally conducted. The group is open to everyone and welcomes new members. For more information, visit rockportlibrary.net.
