It's Retro Ski Day at Black Mountain of Maine! Time to pull out those neon windbreakers, shiny one pieces, pom pom hats and yes…those classic straight skis hiding who knows where in your house. PBR will be on-site with swag and giveaways in the Last Run Pub! Plus live music with Jim Gallant from 2pm-5pm! And don’t forget to strike your best throwback pose-our photographer will be capturing all the retro glory!

Experience the joy of lambs and help us welcome the Farm’s newest arrivals!
Join us to see the flock cozied up in their winter quarters, with ewes watching over their rambunctious little lambs. Farmer managers April and Ro as well as some of the student staff will be on hand to introduce you to our animals and answer all your burning questions!

Hot chocolate and Tea will be available and we’ll also have a small table display to showcase our fiber and other farm products.

This event is free and open to the public - families welcome!

With an expanding lineup of Maine chocolatiers and new experiences added annually, Chocolate Fest is bigger, sweeter, and more exciting than ever. Experience the fun and magic of theater on Saturday mornings with Play Me a Story! Ages 4 – 10 enjoy a performance of children’s stories followed by an interactive acting workshop with Portland Stage’s Education Artists for $15. Sign up for the month and save or pick individual days that work for you. Financial aid is available. Build literacy, encourage creativity and spark dramatic dreams!

Play Me a Story takes place in person at Portland Stage’s Theater for Kids on Saturday mornings from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Doors open at 10:00, 10:30 performance, followed by an interactive workshop from 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM, with everything wrapped up by 12:00 PM.

All books featured in Play Me a Story are presented with permission from the publishers and/or authors.

Join us at Libby Library in OOB on the first Saturday of the month January through May at 11:00 am for Chair Yoga with instructor Jessy Lynn Ostara! The class dates will be January 3rd, February 7th, March 7th, April 4th, and May 2nd.

This is a one-time class that will give you an introduction to Chair Yoga. Chair yoga offers all of the benefits of yoga without the need to get down to (and up from) the floor. Yoga postures are adapted for practicing seated or standing using the chair for support when needed. You will be guided through yoga postures and breathing/relaxation techniques with a focus on releasing tension, improving flexibility, and creating mindfulness.

All levels welcome, no prior experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement.

This program is free, open to the public, and no registration is required.

This American Legion Post #36 Breakfast Buffet has been a tradition spanning many years now. Aside from a few minor unforeseen and unavoidable changes, most everything else remains the same. All who enter the Legion Hall doors on a Breakfast Buffet Sunday, will get a great meal for a fair price/donation, get to see old friends and/or family, or meet someone interesting for the first time. The menu items have satisfied many folks over the years, and I have no doubt that this year will be no different. So come and enjoy the Legion Buffet Breakfast this season, enjoy the food, enjoy the camaraderie, and learn how you (Yes, You) can play a key role in this year's breakfast season - or next year's season. There are a number of very important people who make these breakfasts a success each year, if you have any interest in becoming a volunteer or member of the breakfast crew - ask for the least important person in the mix (Christopher) when you arrive for breakfast. These breakfast buffets take place every other Sunday starting on April 2, 2025.
