Maine Man Pleads Guilty in Death of 5-Month-Old

BANGOR, Maine - A Maine man charged in the death of an infant has been ordered to serve 17 years in prison after reaching a plea agreement.

Samuel Moore on Thursday pleaded guilty to manslaughter and aggravated assault. Under the agreement, a murder charge was dismissed. A judge sentenced him to 25 years, but suspended part of the sentence.

Police say Moore had been babysitting 5-month-old Korbyn Antworth, who died in March 2014 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. The 5-month-old suffered rib fractures and a head injury.

Moore was also accused of choking Korbyn's older sibling.

The hearing was emotional at times. Korbyn's grandparents said they were robbed of their grandchild, and the grandfather told Moore, "I can't stand you.''
