The rain of late last week failed to ease Maine's drought conditions. The U.S. Drought Monitor reported Wednesday that more than two-thirds of the state remains in a "moderate drought" condition and the western edge of the state is "abnormally dry."

The southern tip of York County is said to be in extreme drought. More much needed precipitation is expected in Maine on Thanksgiving, though some will be in the form of snow that could complicate travel.
