LITTLETON, N.H. — A medical marijuana dispensary has been proposed in Littleton, New Hampshire, after the state passed a law allowing seriously ill residents to use marijuana to treat their illnesses.
The Caledonian Record reports Wellness Connection of Maine, which opened in 2011 and operates four licensed dispensaries there, has expressed an interest to run one in New Hampshire. It is looking at using a building on Main Street that had housed the Mill River Furniture outlet.
A consultant for Wellness Connection has emailed the town questions about zoning requirements and planned to visit Friday.
New Hampshire has until Jan. 23 to select at least two "alternative treatment centers." At most, the state will license four centers divided among four geographical areas.
Similar proposals have been introduced in Epping and Franklin.
