3 Killed When Car Veers Off Road, Crashes Into Tree

DAYTON, Maine - Authorities say three people were killed in a single-car crash in Maine.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the York County town of Dayton.

State police said Sunday that 33-year-old Jill Ann Theriault, of Dayton, 45-year-old Lee Goodrich, of Alfred and 20-year-old Devin Nolan of Sanford were killed instantly when their car went off the road on a slight curve and slammed into trees.

Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, says no one in the car had a valid driver's license.

The Portland Press Herald reports that the deaths bring the unofficial toll of highway fatalities in the state to 84 so far this year.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
