PORTLAND, Maine - Actress Glenn Close and entrepreneur David Shaw have divorced after nine years of marriage.
A spokeswoman for Close described it as amicable.
The Portland Press Herald reports that divorce filings in Cumberland County cite "irreconcilable marital difference'' as the reason for the divorce, which became official Aug. 18.
The couple spent much time at an oceanside home at Prouts Neck in Scarborough, Maine, and Close attended various fundraisers and events in Maine. According to divorce filings, Close was living in New York and Shaw in Maine.
The 68-year-old Close, who starred in "Fatal Attraction'' and "101 Dalmations,'' is the winner of three Emmy Awards and three Tony Awards. She also received six Academy Award nominations. Shaw, who's 64, is founder and former chief executive of Idexx Laboratories, based in Westbrook.
