Maine's Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that it's taking measures to ensure that MaineCare recipients have access to basic health care and nutrition in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The department is waiving all copays for prescriptions, office visits, emergency department visits, and other services for Mainers who are served by the programs. The department will also allow prescribing remotely through videoconferencing.
DHHS says it will also limit interactions at its offices to just accepting paperwork for drop-off. Interviews for various services, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, will be conducted by phone.
