Joe Boucher

Joe Boucher

Classical Music Host and Producer, Maine Stage Producer and Host

Joe grew up in the quaint seaside village of Biddeford, Maine on the New England coast. His earliest career goals were to become a Beatle, Carl Yastrzemski, Norm Abram, Rick Steeves, Michael Palin, Gerry Cheevers, or Luke Skywalker. Somehow it all fits.

Prior to joining Maine Public, Joe spent sixteen seasons as the Concert Manager for the Portland Symphony Orchestra. Since 1990, he has worked in nearly every aspect of live theater and concert production, spending seven years touring internationally as a stage manager. Joe maintains an active career as a touring musician performing rock concerts with symphony orchestras around the country with his three shows:

"Piano Men - The Music of Elton and Billy, "Classic Rock," and "IMAGINE - The Beatles Solo Years.”

He is a singer and songwriter who, for eight years, fronted the power pop band Frotus Caper. They recorded and released four critically acclaimed albums while performing constantly. Throughout that time, he worked regularly as a studio session musician, playing piano and arranging pop, rock and folk songs for many artists. In August 2014, Joe released a "best of" CD of his own songs called “Retrospectal."

Joe and his wife live in Maine with their son, their twins, and a rescue pooch. Most summer nights they can be found sitting on the back porch listening to the Boston Red Sox.

  • Host Joe Boucher sits down with Bradford Kenney - Executive Artistic Director of the Ogunquit Playhouse to discuss the history of the historic theater, the many luminaries who have tread the boards and the playhouse's ongoing mission to present new works bound for Broadway.
  • Paul Bussiere is a Bangor native and Star Wars superfan who designed and built a fully functioning Artoo Detoo droid which looks, moves and sounds as though it rolled right off of the big screen.Since 2009, Paul has been building and modifying the most famous droid in the galaxy and sharing his creation with people from all over Maine with regular visits to Children's Hospitals, Schools, Comic-Con's and sporting events.
