New Poll Shows LePage with 10-Point Lead over Michaud

A Maine Sunday Telegram poll out this weekend found Republican Paul LePage with a 10 percentage-point lead over Democrat Mike Michaud, with independent Eliot Cutler still third.

The poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, showed LePage with 45 percent support to Michaud's 35 percent and Cutler's 16 percent. The poll had a margin of error of 3.8 percent.

It was one of the first polls to show LePage's support expanding beyond the base that won him the Blaine House 4 years ago.

Another poll on the governor's race, this one by the firm Pan Atlantic — SMS is due out Tuesday.
