AUGUSTA, Maine - Mike Michaud is mulling over his next move after a bruising bid for Maine governor and the end of his 12-year career in Congress.
The Democrat says he won't rule out anything _ even seeking public office. Right now, he says he's just looking forward to spending time with his dog and finally getting to sleep at his northern Maine home.
The 59-year-old Michaud calls leaving Washington last week "bittersweet.'' But he says he has no regrets about giving up his 2nd Congressional District seat to run for governor. He lost to incumbent Republican Gov. Paul LePage last month.
Republican Bruce Poliquin will replace Michaud in Congress. The former state treasurer knocked off Democrat Emily Cain in November.
