We discuss the impacts on Maine residents and economy, and how the cuts will affect health care, agriculture, the environment, businesses, and other sectors. This will be a special 2-hour Maine Calling program, airing from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

A surprising number of jellyfish sightings along Maine’s coast are causing alarm – and curiosity. These otherworldly, tentacled creatures are known for their sting, but they also serve a vital role in the marine ecosystem. We learn about the dangers and benefits of jellyfish to humans and the environment—and what to do if you encounter one.

We discuss the latest news from the world of cars, trucks, and SUVs. What’s new on the market, and how are tariffs affecting buying and selling in the months ahead? We’ll discuss the latest on how political controversy is affecting Tesla, a newish electric car company called Slate, and the future of EVs.

For fans of Shakespeare, summer is a great time to see productions of works by the Bard. We’ll learn which plays are being performed in Maine, what’s being done to keep Shakespeare in the public eye, and why his work remains relevant today.
Fri 7/11 – MAINE TRAILS: BUILDING & MAINTAINING (Rebroadcast)
From ATV riders to mountain bikers, hikers and horseback riders, joggers and walkers, Maine trails cater to all types. We’ll discuss the state of the state’s trails, including how communities can apply for a piece of the $30 million in funding signed into law last year. Some Maine communities are building their economic development plans around existing or new trails, the grant process, and the importance of maintaining existing trails.
