PORTLAND, Maine - A bowling alley in Maine's largest city will be the site of the Professional Bowlers Association's first playoff event next year.
The PBA has been coming to Portland's Bayside Bowl since 2015 and consistently drawing enthusiastic crowds. The Portland Press Herald reports the venue will be the site of the PBA Playoffs starting on April 8, 2019.
The playoffs will be a 10-telecast event that includes the top 24 bowlers in the PBA tour playing for $100,000. The event will be shown live on cable station FS1 on the first night and then taped for three more nights for later use.
The four remaining bowlers will come back for a live semifinal on June 1 and a live championship the following day. Those events will be shown on FOX Sports.
