Maine Technology Institute Wants Pitches For $45M In Grants

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Maine Technology Institute says it is looking for proposals for $45 million in grants for equipment, infrastructure and technology upgrades in the state.

The technology institute has funded projects in sectors such as biotechnology, aquaculture and manufacturing in the past.

The institute says applicants will be part of a competitive process in which they will be expected to show how a grant would help them increase revenues and grow or preserve jobs in Maine.

The institute says the grants will be awarded on a cost-share basis. It's accepting the grant requests from Oct. 2 to Dec. 8 and says it will review them on a monthly basis. The institute says the money must be used for expenditures such as equipment and facilities renovation.
